I believe we were all called to serve God by serving those He loves.
I believe that when He said in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 that we are all one body with many members that He was talking about us as the church and that He calls us all to serve in different areas of the church. I think the problem is we don’t listen to Him, we instead listen to the much louder world that says we need to put ourselves above others.
God never tells us to put ourselves above others. In fact he does quite the opposite in telling us to put others above self and to humble ourselves over and over again.
When we as believers take the passion in our heart and combine that with the need of the church and surrounding communities and commit to serving we get to be a part of the miracles He still performs today.
I serve because not only did God give me a servant’s heart, but because I get to be in some small way a part of those miracles.
I also serve because as a follower of Jesus Christ I want to be more like Him and less like me and He came not to be served, but to serve others.
Matthew 20:27-28 27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
If you are unsure about where to serve, come see me and I can help you find a place that you can serve and be a part of those miracles. Serving is like a hug, where in when you hug a person you get hugged right back, you cannot serve God without immediate rewards given back to you. You will feel it in your heart immediately.

Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”
