WE ARE NOT YOUR TYPICAL CHURCH
We do not have a Sunday morning service. What we have is a community that shows up every Wednesday night in the heart of Rockwood, East Portland, with food, open doors, and room for everyone who walks through them.
No perfect people required. No church background needed. No prerequisites of any kind.
Just come as you are.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT 740 SE 182ND AVE
Every Wednesday evening we open our doors to anyone who needs a meal, a workout, community, or just a place to breathe.
5 PM: Community workout. Open to everyone, all fitness levels welcome.
6 PM: Community dinner. No fancy setup. Sometimes we are at tables, sometimes we are on the grass out back. What matters is that everyone gets fed and everyone belongs.
6:30 PM: Community groups. Kids, youth, and adults all meet at the same time so the whole family can come together.
Doors open at 4:45 PM. No sign up. No reservation. Just show up.
WHO WE ARE
AS IS Church is an outreach community rooted in the Rockwood neighborhood of East Portland. We exist to share God's love with a broken and hurting world, one person at a time.
We believe every person who walks through our doors has a name, has a story, and matters to God. That means they matter to us. Not as a project. Not as a number. As a person.
We are the spiritual home of Underground PDX, our community outreach hub at 740 SE 182nd Ave. Together we serve families, youth, and individuals who need more than a program. They need people who know their name.
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN ROCKWOOD
Rockwood is one of the most underserved neighborhoods in the Portland metro area. High rates of poverty. Limited access to healthy food. Few safe spaces for youth after school.
We are here because this is exactly where we are supposed to be.
Every week we serve meals, run fitness programming, mentor youth, and walk alongside neighbors who need someone to show up consistently. Not just on the good weeks. Every week.
GET INVOLVED
There are many ways to be part of what is happening at AS IS Church.
Volunteer. Show up for your neighbors the way someone once showed up for you.
Give. Your generosity keeps our doors open and our tables full.
