WHO WE ARE
OUR STORY
WHY "AS IS?"
Because that is how God accepts each and every one of us. As Is.
We believe God desires relationship with people, but most people think they need to get their act together before they can approach Him, or before they are welcome in a church. This simply is not true.
The Bible tells us that God demonstrated His love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. That means while we were out getting loaded, sleeping around, acting prideful, judging others, stealing, lying, living in fear, and all of that, Christ died for us. As Is.
WE ARE LIKE USED CARS
Think about the used car lots on 82nd Ave. We are all like those cars. Not in original condition. A little banged up. Some miles on us.
Jesus paid the price for us anyway. His life was given as a ransom for our souls. Our response is to receive His gift, As Is, and sign the title of our lives over into His name.
That is when He begins the restoration project.
He rebuilds the motor of our hearts and renews our minds. He straightens out the alignment of our lives. He wrote the owner's manual for how to live, manage, and thrive in a broken and hurting world. We call it the Bible.
When He takes ownership it changes everything. He transforms us from the inside out.

No perfect people allowed. Come exactly as you are.
We want to be the kind of place where insiders feel confident bringing outsiders, a non-threatening, genuinely friendly environment where nobody has to pretend.
We want you to notice something different about us from the moment you arrive. The way we love each other. The way we treat a stranger the same way we would treat a guest in our own home.
Our first impression goal is simple. Everyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed, seen, and known.

Physically, we have screening and security in place so you can relax and focus on what matters.
Spiritually, this is a place you can bring friends and family who have never set foot in a church, or who swore they never would. No pressure. No agenda. Just love.
Emotionally, we know people carry all kinds of ideas and fears about church. Some people are literally afraid to walk through the door. We get it. We try to remove every barrier we can so that the moment you arrive, you feel it before anyone says a word.
This is a safe place.
People walk in carrying two questions they may not even realize they are asking:
"Are these people real?"
"Do they really care about me?"
Our answer is yes. Every single week.
We work hard to make AS IS Church safe in every way.

Family is what holds it all together. When a young person finds belonging here, their family notices. When a parent sees their teenager thrive, they want to know why. That is how one relationship becomes a household, and one household becomes a neighborhood.
We start with whoever walks through the door. But we never stop at just one person.

The young people in Rockwood are not problems to be managed. They are leaders waiting to be developed.
Everything we do with youth is built on that conviction. Our Tuesday night Bible study, our Sunday night youth group, our Wednesday night community groups, our summer youth fitness camp, all of it is designed to give young people a safe place to belong, trustworthy adults who know their name, and the tools to build a life they are proud of.
When you invest in a teenager in Rockwood you are not just changing one life. You are changing the trajectory of a family, and eventually a neighborhood.
